Microblading + Powder Brow  Aftercare

Day 1- After Your Appointment

  • Blot brows with a clean tissue every 20 minutes to remove excess lymph and to reduce lymph from scabbing up

  • Wash hands with antibacterial soap before you wash or touch your brows.

  • Gently Wash your eyebrows about an hour after your session to remove excess lymph, then once before bed with provided cleanser or with a gentle, fragrance free cleanser like baby wash or Cetaphil and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel and apply a very thin layer of ointment provided to you.

Days 2-7

  • Wash your eyebrows 2 times a day(preferably when you wake up and right before bed), and apply thin layer of ointment after each wash. Use a very thin layer, to avoid suffocating your brows. Ointment provided should last you the full 7 days(+ enough for after the 6 week touch up).

Days 1-10

DO NOT scrub or pick your brows.

—Avoid strenuous physical activity to prevent sweating (which will impact the pigment retention). Try not to exercise for the first 3-5 days. No heavy sweating for first 5 days

—Avoid facials, face/body massages, eyelash extensions, brow waxing, swimming, whirlpools/saunas for at least 7 days

—Avoid hot yoga for 10 days

—Avoid gardening for first 7 days

—Avoid sleeping on your face; try sleeping on your back or side instead.

—DO NOT apply makeup in or on brows for at least 10 days.

—DO NOT use any Retin A, Glycolic acids, peroxide, or neosporin during healing period

—Avoid close exposure to animals(licking, touching your face, etc) for first 7 days of healing

What to expect the first 10 days after microblading and/or shading procedures:

—Your brows will appear around 20-25% percent darker and wider than they will be when healed.

—First 2 days: Color generally looks darker. Slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness following the procedure. You can use ice packs to reduce any swelling the first couple of days. Cover brows with a papertowel, then place ice pack on top.

For Microblading:

  • After about 6 days: Color will start to appear to be very light, look like it’s flaking away

  • As part of the normal healing process, the treated area will begin to flake and/or scab usually around 5 – 7 days after the treatment. Do not rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off to avoid scarring or loss of pigment. If heavy scabbing and/or itchiness occur, use a small amount of the ointment provided on the area with a clean cotton swab. As the scabs flake off, the pigment may disappear. Do not be alarmed. The color should return within 3 – 5 weeks.

For Powder Brows:

  • After about 3 days: brows will start to “crack” & scabbing will start to become noticeable.

  • After about 5 days: brow scabs will start to fall off(DO NOT PICK OR SCRUB SCABS). Removal of scabs will lead to loss of pigment and scarring. Allow scabs to naturally fall off.

  • Around day 8: Most scabs should have fallen off and pigment will appear lighter, may be splotchy & uneven color after the 1st session.

—After 15-20 days: Color should resolve itself to its appropriate shade.

3-4 weeks after the procedure:

— Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning.

— No facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion.

— Once the scabbing process ends (approx. 14 – 21 days after the procedure for microblading, and 8-12 days for powder brows), begin using sunscreen to protect your eyebrows. — Do not judge the way your brows look until you have reached six full weeks of healing.

6 weeks after procedure: — Fully healed brows.

Now you're ready for your follow up appointment. — Continue to use sunscreen on your brows everyday to prevent premature fading. — Do not use Retin-A or any acids (glycolic, AHA, etc) on your brows

General Healing Expectations:

—Color will appear softer once your brows are fully healed. It is normal to lose approximately 1/3 of the color during healing.

—Complete healing takes 30 days.

—Your touch up appt between 6-12 weeks will perfect your look, adding hair strokes if needed, and going over any faded areas.

—Natural exfoliation will cause excess pigment to flake away and narrow the width of your brows.

**Redness and swelling the first couple of days is normal. Signs and symptoms of infection: including, but not limited to, excessive redness, excessive swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, blisters, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent(discharge) drainage from the procedure site. Please contact your doctor for treatment as soon as possible if you feel you show symptoms of infection.
